Privacy Policy — Lockstep

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Lockstep mobile game (package com.oldmansgames.lockstep, “the app”, “we”, “us”), developed by Yasin Oruç (“the developer”), handles, why, and the choices you have. If you have questions, contact us at contact@oldmansgames.com.

Plain-language summary: Lockstep does not ask you for your name, email, or any personal details. We don't run our own servers or collect personal data ourselves. The app shows optional Google AdMob ads. If you choose to sign in, Google Play Games backs your progress up to your own Google account. Game progress is stored on your device, and in your own Google account only if you sign in.

1. Information handled

1.1 Data stored on your device

Your settings and game progress (levels solved, star ratings, power-up count, language and audio preferences) are stored locally on your device using the platform's standard preferences storage. We do not transmit this to the developer.

1.2 Google Play Games Services (optional)

If you choose to sign in to Google Play Games, your progress (levels solved and star ratings) can be backed up to your Google account (Saved Games). This is operated by Google and tied to your own Google account. You can play the entire game without signing in.

Data involved: your Play Games player ID and saved-game data.

1.3 Advertising

The app shows optional rewarded ads from Google AdMob in the Fine Nudge panel and occasional interstitial ads at natural level transitions. AdMob may process the Android advertising identifier, device and app identifiers, IP address and approximate location, ad interactions, and diagnostic data to serve, measure and protect advertising. Google processes this data under its partner-sites policy; we receive aggregated reports only.

Where required, Google User Messaging Platform asks for consent before personalized ads. You can revisit or withdraw it in Settings → Privacy options. The rewarded ad is optional and the game remains playable if ads are unavailable or declined. You can also reset or delete the advertising ID in Android settings.

2. Third-party services

The app relies on the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

3. Children

Lockstep is a general-audience puzzle game and is not directed at children under the age required by your local app store. Ad content is limited to the app's G rating. If you believe a child has provided data through the app, contact us and we will help address it.

4. Data retention & deletion

On-device data is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data.
Google Play Games saved-game data lives in your Google account; you can manage or delete it through your Google account / Play Games settings.

5. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, within the app or store listing.
